The Law and Justice Research Centre is the focal point and support structure for the research endeavours of the Faculty of Law at the Queensland University of Technology.

The intention of the Centre is to provide a focus and support for research consistent with the Faculty of Law’s objectives and commitment to economic, cultural and social improvement through:

  • Multidisciplinary collaborative approaches;
  • Nationalisation and internationalisation;
  • High impact and professionally-valued research.

These factors are essential to support the Faculty’s capacity to conduct priority-driven research that is designed to answer questions of immediate and future concern to the community and to government.   The Centre provides research management that is well placed to respond to the changes in the national performance-oriented research environment and supports enhancement and sustainability of research productivity.

 One of the Centre’s primary goals is to participate actively in knowledge transfer, particularly to the professions, the community and industry. The Faculty already enjoys a solid reputation in this area, but the Centre will enable these activities to be more focussed and more readily identifiable.

The Centre allows the Faculty to respond to current challenges in research and research training by providing structures that allow more collaboration and support for high quality research and encourage linking of research interest groups within an expanded Faculty research profile. and supports enhancement and sustainability of research productivity.
