The QUT Faculty of Law has a well-developed research profile and a large team of experts researching a wide and exciting range of law and justice issues. Staff are available to supervise students from the undergraduate level (undertaking individual research projects) to honours, masters and doctoral level. The Faculty offers a number of Research Degrees to meet the educational needs of students and professionals.
The Faculty’s research training objective is to graduate high quality postgraduate research students who meet the needs of industry, government, the professions and the community and who are equipped to undertake leadership roles in those contexts. The Faculty is committed to ensuring that supervisors undertake the role of facilitating the development of student capabilities through promotion of opportunities for self-development.
The University has a formalised supervisor-accredited system for all supervisors of higher degree research (HDR) students. This supports and encourages quality supervision and hence the quality of outcomes achieved by HDR students.
