Intellectual Property: Knowledge Culture and Economy Research Program jointly hosts international conference in China |

The Intellectual Property: Knowledge Culture and Economy Research Program (IP:KCE) and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation recently hosted with the Intellectual Property School at East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) a two day conference on the digital content industry. The conference which marked the first forum of the ECUPL-QUT Sino-Australian Intellectual Property Law Research Collaboration Program was an outstanding event and demonstrates the close links between the two universities in the area of intellectual property law.
The conference which featured a number high profile speakers, led by Chief Justice Jiang Zhipei, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the People’s Republic of China, attracted over 100 participants from Australia, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The international nature of the conference is testament to the cutting edge legal research being conducted by researchers in the Intellectual Property: Knowledge Culture and Economy Research Program.
Members of the Intellectual Property: Knowledge Culture and Economy Research Program who presented at the conference included Professor Brian Fitzgerald, Damien O’Brien and Sampsung Xiaoxiang Shi. The Intellectual Property: Knowledge Culture and Economy Research Program was also extremely grateful for the participation of QUT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Coaldrake who opened the conference with ECUPL President, Professor He Qinhua, and to QUT Registrar, Dr Carol Dickenson who also attended the conference.
