A research program is a domain of established research activity, within the Faculty, with strong strategic direction and potential for future growth.  These groups have developed due to the existing track record of their members and because of the potential of the fields for national and international significance and collaboration. The variety of programs allows for growth in a number of diverse areas, recognising Law’s unique ability to contribute and ‘value add’ to a vast range of disciplines.  The program seeks to strengthen and grow teams with an established basis and a record of undertaking significant and nationally and internationally competitive research.

All Programs currently engage in research of local, national and international significance and are responsive to national and international trends.  In all instances, the Faculty has a verifiable comparative advantage in valid research in those areas.

The programs bring together a mix of researchers broadly engaged in an arena of mutual interest and activity.  Thus they are building blocks for small and large scale collaborations and research development.
