The Commercial, Property and Environment Research Program undertakes collaborative research in the areas of Commercial Law, Property Law and Environmental Law.  Members of the program work in partnership with industry and government to form multi-disciplinary research teams, helping to ensure the outcomes of the program are useful and relevant to today’s society.

The program has recently received an ARC Discovery grant to fund research on a project entitled “An Institutional Framework to Facilitate Sustainable and Integrated Natural, Cultural and Built Resources governance”.  Members of the program are also participating in a successful Australian Housing an Urban Research Institute Grant on “How Regulatory Planning Tools Impact on the Provision of Affordable Housing in Australia.”  Through the Institute of Sustainable Resources, further collaborative work is being undertaken and an ARC Linkage grant on affordable housing will be submitted in the next round with collaborators from the Division of Information Technology and Learning Support and the Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering.

The program also boasts experts in areas such as community titles law, water law, competition law and intellectual property, and has strong links with international researchers.
